While investment in new field developments may vary over time, the need to maintain existing subsea infrastructure remains. Across the Norwegian Continental Shelf and other mature offshore regions, operators continue to focus on maintaining production, extending field life and preparing assets for eventual Plug & Abandonment (P&A). As a result, well intervention, workover and lifecycle support remain an important part of offshore operations.

As subsea fields mature, wells may require intervention to address declining production, changing reservoir conditions or equipment-related issues. Restoring production, accessing new zones and replacing critical components are all part of maximising asset value throughout the field lifecycle.

Successful intervention projects require more than expertise in individual systems. They require an understanding of how engineering, equipment and offshore operations work together, and how technical decisions influence safety, reliability and execution offshore.
