Ludwig Lind is part of our Engineering Team in Gothenburg. Curious about his role and what life at Advantek looks like? Read more in this interview!

How did you get in touch with Advantek?

I submitted a spontaneous application via LinkedIn and was then contacted by Ebba Karlsson for the first interview call.

Tell us a little bit about your professional background

I studied at Chalmers, Mechanical Engineering, a bachelor’s degree. Then I worked generally as a design engineer for different companies before I gained group responsibility for a CAD team. After that I worked at as a test engineer, design engineer, and as lead engineer.

Now I’m working with air intake in the automotive industry, part of the dressed engine.

What does a typical day look like?

I’m responsible for my design and its function. A bit of project management for my component. It needs to function with the right parameters. I don’t do simulations myself but provide models. I order tests. A little bit of project management for the components I’m responsible for. Purchasing, suppliers etc.

How is it to be there?

It’s exciting for me, since I haven’t worked in automotive before, to have a different quality level to meet. The processes are new and exciting. I’ve learned how complicated it can be to develop something simple. Overall, it feels like there is room to be seen and to grow. I’ll be getting more responsibilities now. It’s fun. You get noticed in the organization even though it’s big. Individuals are visible.

Fun fact about you?

I grew up on a dairy farm. I think it was fantastic to grow up on a farm, a lot of freedom under responsibility. The whole family becomes like a company. Lots of free time and fun. Being involved early on, working, milking cows, you learn to work quite early. That’s positive There’s time for playing football or building a go-kart, the pace is different. Everything revolves around the farm, you live in your own bubble. I feel sorry for those who didn’t grow up like that.

How is it to be a consultant?

I think it’s fun to be a consultant. I like meeting people, working with varied technology. You get to try a lot, see a lot, and gain experience. There’s some uncertainty when the market isn’t doing well, but that also opens opportunities to try something new, a change in assignment but still under the Advantek flag.
